Here are two fun family activities we did last weekend (both of which were Andy's ideas).

This is the big piece of artwork we created.

Making doughnuts. We had to decorate them with every color of frosting and sprinkles we could find.

How fun!

Dads are sometimes the best ones to come up with that kind of thing, aren't they? I too easily get sidetracked or tired at the *very* idea of the mess they will make!!

It is such a blessing to have a great husband who is in love with his kids!

That is adorable! And that little face is a teeny tiny version YOUR MOM, right? Your kids are so cute.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Dads are really great.

Shawna, I'm like you I was trying my hardest keep my composure with the mess, and enjoy the fun and memory making.

Voni, Ha! Recipe, I wish. It was 8pm when we got the idea and I looked online for recipes just to find out they all had to rise at least an hour. We piled in the car and went Hyvee for pillsberry dough tubes. Not the tastiest, but the kids didn't care. Maybe next time we'll try the REAL thing.

Hope, I know Chloe is my mini mom. We call her Cindy Lou Who sometimes.=)

So cute, guys! Just treasure those moments.....there are too many "not fun" moments in parenting, when they just aren't looking quite so cute. :) You two seem like you're doing a great job!

Jenica,

When I was a kid we bought the cheap store-brand refrigerator biscuits (10¢/tube on sale), used a biscuit cutter with the donut ring attached inside, and made donuts and donut "holes". Mom fried them in hot oil, then rolled them in a deep bowl of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar and let them cool on a wire rack. Yummy!

(There's your recipe, hopiq!)
