The first camping trip of the spring proved to be a good start to the season. Especially since our good friends got a pop-up camper too. We just set up at a campground a few miles out of town, it's nice to be able to run home for a shower and go to meeting on Sunday.
Hello, outdoors, so glad to enjoy you!

On a nature hike

We see birds nests
We see honey suckle
We see buffalo
We see poison ivy
We see friends
We see snakes
We see streams
We see violets
We see hawthorn trees
We see Him

Before
Sponge curlers seem to be a Saturday night ritual.
Her mama did the same thing when she was little.

After
All ready for church.
Yes, her glasses are a necessity, not a accessory -says her reliable uncle Optometrist. (Thanks for the daisies, Sophie!)

Mexico was lovely.
Mostly because of all the time spent together without real life responsibilities. It was fun to reflect on the goodness of God in our marriage and talk of the future. One thing we decided about that is, we could live only on guacamole, pico de gallo, pineapple, papaya, chips and salsa for the rest of our lives. Oh, and we want to learn Spanish...and if Andy could be any animal, he'd be a fish...

They are 6.
6?!
So we had a little party that was a whirlwind of fun.
Haphazard is what I would call it.
Presents wrapped in newspaper and a soggy homemade pinata.
Drooping cakes and strewn decorations.

The birthday boy is blindly searching for the donkey, we are laughing and taking pictures as his foot steps off the edge of the stairs and he tumbles down. What sort of mother am I? Oblivious and haphazard.

Thank goodness 6 year olds think haphazard birthdays are fun.
