I've been making that bread you posted about back in Feb. (I've had to come back for the recipe several times, hence knowing precisely when you posted it), and it's so good!! Even when we make it 100% wheat it's great bread!
Shawna - I'll have to hear about your 5K! Those are a bit daunting to me because you have to push it harder than a longer run, where I go slow and steady...:) I think Sara's referring to the Sullivan St. bread. Just click on "Feb" and it's the 2nd post down.
Naphtali - I know! it's in about 2 weeks. I've been "training", but scared to make the commitment. I'm getting excited, now, though and ready to be done with it.
I will let you know how it goes. :) I am not expecting anything super fast, I am sure your slow and steady is MY FAST! lol I did the bama run a couple weeks ago with my brothers and avg a little over a 10 min mile. Last night MK and I ran the course (5k) in 40 min straight up. She has speed, just not endurance, so a couple of kilometers I really have to talk her through. We will see how we do tomorrow. I like that at that pace I can sing and talk to her easily. She is just sure we can shave nearly 10 minutes off tomorrow. :)
have a great weekend! I look forward to hearing about the half.
I have a question about the bread- what kind of flour do you use? Do you ever use fresh ground wheat flour? or other kinds of flour? I love how simple your recipe is. I can't wait to try it. And about running... have you ever tried spinning classes? They have really helped me increase my running endurence. (And i need all the help I can get!)
Sh - that really IS SO cute that you & MK run together!(I told Leyla and she was very impressed and said she wants to do a marathon with me next year, ha.) So how did it go?
N - I haven't used wheat flour in the Sullivan recipe. Sara has and likes it. I have maybe tried 1/2 & 1/2. I'm sure it would be good. I did some spinning classes a few years ago - they are tough. And actually I was thinking about starting some when the the weather gets crummy. I need help with endurance, too, and a change from running. Good idea.
Why do I blog? To intentionally be reminded of God's daily goodness, to preserve memories, to share with loved ones, to create something that lasts longer than a clean toilet.

I'm trying your bread tonight! Thanks for the tips!
YUM to the bread! Wish I had enough nerve to run a half-marathon. I don't have enough nerve to run anywhere! Good for you :)
so why were you on strike from making bread?
