Leyla is loving her birthday baking book.

But like all aspiring bakers, she sometimes gets frustrated.


And disappointed.


And exasperated.


Especially, when she adds 1 1/2 cups of vanilla instead 1 1/2 teaspoons.


Poor girl. I know the feeling.


But with some of failure


and lots of practice


comes sweet chocolate-chip-muffin


success!

Mother's Day

All I wanted was

• to be together
• go on a picnic
• go on a hike

I got so much more.

I have so much more. It would be vain to say any of this life is my doing, the mother.
For it's all the Lord's doing. The two mothers who have begot and blessed us. A husband who loves and serves. Happy sprouting children. I feel much gratitude in knowing that this position and home is a gracious gift He is growing. May we always fear Him.

Spring Sights

A new tree house lovingly built by father and grandfather. Decorated with mud. Swing attached.
The first farmer's market of the season. Flowers and foliage. Three ducks making their home in & around our yard. And on top of our car. Out with the old, in with the new kitchen floor. A 7 year old freckled birthday girl got one big party along with her friend. Baby Uriah renamed "Bubble" by Cade. Because he's that fat. A new bird house hoping for lots of visitors. Yep, spring is here.
