If I see me looking like Jezebel...

This is the first time I've posted a picture of coupon-saving-loot, but I am hoping that if you haven't taken advantage of this Walgreen's deal, you will - BEFORE TOMORROW. Saturday is the last day. And those of you who are new to using coupons and need some make- up, this one is for you. It's very simple.

4 bags Cheddar Cheese - .99 ea. with in store coupon
2 boxes Vics Puffs - .99 ea. with Buy1Get1free manufacturer coupon
16 Jane cosmetics - Free! B1G1 sale, 16 $2 man. coupon, 2 $2 EasySaver coupon
Total before coupons: 82.43 (Yes, original prices here are high.)
Total after coupons: 7.10

Steps for beginners:
1) Print as many of these $2 off coupons for Jane cosmetics - 1 for ea. item you wish to get. (I had 16!)

2) Go to you nearest Walgreens.

3) Find Jane cosmetics which are on sale Buy One Get One Free.

4) If you want to get them close to free pick the ones that are in the $3-$5 range.

5) Check out and give cashier a coupon for each item.

Caution: if you think you may get a negative balance after coupons, throw in a cheap item from a bin around the checkout

(Opt. if you want mascara and even more of a discount find the tiny Easy Saver catalog at the entrance of the store and use the coupon inside for Jane Mascara, along with the printed manufacture coupons.)

Note: Lipgloss and eyeshadow would make nice little gifts.

A few years ago I made this wall hanging for my jewelry. It works great because it's all right there, making it easy to choose the best finishing touch. As you can see, I am a jewelry freak.

Recently, I've come across some other great organizing solutions. Aren't they neat?! Seriously, why would you hide it all in a box?

These are compliments of Martha Stewart's Blueprint.

This can be purchased on Etsy.

I found the perfect Bible reading plan for me this year. It's a 2 year plan. The one year plans have always overwhelmed me and I find myself skimming through just to fit all the reading in, thus hardly retaining anything. I'm excited about this less strenuous schedule and hope to put more meditation into my reading.

I recently read about Noah who pleased God. Noah was a just man, blameless, and found grace in the eyes of the Lord. It makes you wonder how was he that way? And how can I be that way? Well, Noah walked with God. (Gen. 6) Noah was aware of God's presence because he walked with him each day.

This reminded with one of my goals this year: to acknowledge how the Lord is present in each of my days. I want notice Him. And I think if I notice Him, I will naturally thank Him.

"Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence. Ps. 140:13
"You will show me the path of life. In Your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures for evermore." Ps. 16:11

My husband encouraged me this past Christmas season with the thought of Christ coming to earth and being called Immanuel meaning "God with us". God is here. God is present. He is in my home. I have total access. I can walk in the presence of God.

Out to the countryside.

The kids and I took a day to go up north to make "housecalls" in the country - all within a 4 mile radius. Dad and every other farmer were in a planting frenzy. The John Deers were chugging every where you looked.

The pictures are not telling of every visit...

The first visit was Mom and Josie. We helped (minimally) tear up the kitchen linolum preparing for wood floors to be installed.

Next we visited Wayne M. in the nursing home. Leyla and Chloe decked out with a pigtail wig and a sunflower headpeice. I was encourging to see this elder man still persevering in the Lord and reflect on the godly legacy he has left here on earth.

Back for lunch with Mom and Josie.

We all went over to my Grandpa's who is back for the summer from Arizona. There is talk of putting his acrege up for sale. Sad talk. I have so many memories there. My favorite is the playhouse that my Grandma, cousin, and I spent hours creating. I am amazed now that she let us furnished it with an abundance of antiques. A pictures above

Last we got to visit the Young's 3 generation house swap! The Granparents in to town, parents from one farm to the other and the "young" Young family from town to the farm.
